Frequently Asked Questions
No, you do not need a referral to see any of our practitioners.
Most of our services are claimable if you have Private Health Insurance Extras cover, however it depends on your level of cover as to what is covered and what the rebate will be. We have a HICAPS machine so that claims can be made on the spot, therefore you will only need to pay the gap.
Physiotherapists can refer for x-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI, however these are not bulk-billable, therefore you will need to pay the out-of-pocket cost.
Unfortunately Allied Health Professionals cannot refer directly to specialists such as orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists or neurologists. They can, however, liaise with your GP and they can assist with a referral.
The practitioner will need to access the area to be treated e.g. if you are coming in with a sore knee, either shorts or loose pants would be preferable.
If you have a referral or letter from a GP or specialist, or any scan results, or anything else you believe to be of benefit/importance please bring these to the appointment.
Yes. If for some reason you are unable to attend your appointment please give 12 hours notice so that your appointment can be offered to someone else. A 50% cancellation/no-show fee applies if notice is not given for a consultation.
Group Exercise Classes instructed by a Physiotherapist can be claimed under Private Health Insurance depending on your level of extras cover. Classes instructed by a Pilates Instructor are not claimable.
